Children's Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our students is at the core of our mission. We work hand in hand with you to foster the health and happiness of your child.

At Whitefriars Catholic School children's wellbeing is supported by a Counsellor, Chaplain and social work students from Flinders University completing their educational field studies.

In addition Whitefriars Catholic School adopts the Be You framework offered by Beyond Blue.

Be You is a new national mental health initiative in Australian schools. It is a framework that helps us take care of children's mental health needs by:

  • creating positive school and early childhood communities
  • teaching children skills for good social and emotional development
  • working together with families
  • recognising and getting help for children with mental health problems.

Be You was developed by mental health professionals and education and childcare staff in response to the high rates of school-age children with mental health difficulties and the problems they face getting help. It is is a partnership between education and health sectors and is funded by the Australian Government and Beyond Blue.
